Book Readers

Being fairly new to the world of book reading, I have found myself utilizing margin notes while reading. Whether I am listing some words I need to look up and define, notes for a re-read or a quote to remember I have become quite the note taker while reading. Anyone else take advantage of the margin notes? What a great way to enhance your reading and for me, 100% helps engage in the read and better understand what I’m reading. Note taking will help make connections you may have otherwise missed and allows you to return later to see what insights you had during the read. Marking a section to revisit is one of my favorite margin notes. This allows me to fall back to better understand something I may have missed in farther ahead chapters. Read, take notes and keep building that brain power!

Brain Power

From an early age, I was all in on every except for school. Especially when it came to reading. I struggled in class and pretty much refused to read anything required. As I aged I tried again to dive into the classroom and be better at reading and comprehension. Failed again! Fast forward to my 50th year of life and suddenly o find myself building bookshelves to store the many books I have read and continue to read. Not sure the turning point, but I find it exhilarating and have a need to finish and find more books to read. Maturity? Maybe, but I may never really know what changed. All I do know is that I love books and I want and need to continue the pursuit of finding the next great read!
